The Sacred Heart Pioneers, featuring former Redondo Union High School standout Kayla Roe, suffered an 8-0 loss to the Rhode Island Rams in an NCAA Division I softball contest held Wednesday, April 15, at 2 p.m.

The matchup, played at Pioneer Park, marked the first meeting of the season between the two teams.

Roe reached base twice, registering a hit in her only at-bat and drawing a walk.

The Pioneers are set to face the Rams again at 4 p.m. at Pioneer Park in their next scheduled game.
