At 5 p.m. Monday, March 9, former Bishop Montgomery High School standout Pierson Howe took the mound for the Pepperdine Waves as they suffered a 12-1 defeat to the Cal State Northridge Matadors in NCAA Division I baseball action.

Robert J. Hiegert Field hosted the contest, marking the first time the Waves faced the Matadors this season.

Howe pitched two innings, tallying two walks and two strikeouts.

The Waves are set to face the UMass Lowell Riverhawks next at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Eddy D. Field Stadium.
